The Senegalese Ken Bugul takes up her alienating experiences in the novel Mes hommes à moi (2008); in this opportunity, the focus of attention is about all the men who went through her life. The narrator recognizes a painful, frustrating and permanent dissatisfaction that leads her to consider the origin of her successive love failures. She confesses her adventures impudently, with a heartrending sincerity and the lucidity that characterizes her. She argues that her pursuit of the ideal man is determined by the memory of her father and her older brother; but I personally wonder if the affective need that the grip does not refer to her permanent identity search. The hypothesis of the present work is, therefore, that in Mes hommes à moi the pressing existential interrogations of Bugul (this time around love, sexuality, eroticism, sensuality) are unfolded, and unresolved since the maternal abandonment in her early childhood and her later confrontation with the colonization and independence of her native country.
